KBI have been passionately involved in the fitness industry for the past 13 years. I am a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I hold certifications in kickboxing, group fitness, weight training and indoor cycling. As well, I studied Nutrition at University of Houston. However, my real experience in health and wellness has come through my own journey. I know what it is like to struggle with weight – in January of 2007 I weighed in at my heaviest – 231 pounds. I know what it is like to try and juggle a full time job and family responsibilities all the while desperately trying to eat right and find time to exercise. I know what it is like to give up and resolve to just being unhealthy and unfit. What I also know, is that it is never too late to change your life!

My change began in 2007 when I joined a local gym. The group fitness classes there helped me to ease back into an exercise routine that I could live with. By May 2007 I had been encouraged by one of the instructors to get certified to teach cycling. After a bit of hesitation, I went for it! I became certified and began teaching. After only 5 months, I became the Group Fitness Manager for the gym. Group Fitness is my first love in fitness – I look forward to every class, every night, and to teaching every member! Becoming a personal trainer was a natural progression for me – now I can work one-on-one with clients to help them reach their health and fitness goals.

My realistic approach to exercise and healthy eating has been very successful for myself and for my clientele. The workouts I give are tough but fun, the meal plan I recommend is healthy and delicious!

Personally, I love to cook, entertain, and listen to music. I have competed in a few triathlons and would love to train for a marathon someday. I work hard to maintain my healthy lifestyle and I am blessed to have two beautiful sons that motivate me every day to be the best that I can be!
